VIVO Media Arts Centre

Vivo Media Arts Centre is Vancouver's oldest media arts access centre and one of Canada's first artist run centres. VIVO continues to fulfill its founding vision by directly supporting independent artists, community-based producers and activists to develop and exchange their skills in a critical and supportive environment.

VIVO and Catch + Release

Disrupting Currents was held at VIVO Media Arts Centre April 2010 as a laboratory exhibition. VIVO is one of Canada's first artist run centres with a mandate to coalesce around the tools and material means of media production to invent new genres and understandings. The project aligns with Hans Ulrich Obrist's laboratory paradigm, situating it within contemporary art discourse in providing a space of investigation and contemplation rather than didactic instruction.
